I am making preparations for my first day in my new job. It feels a little bit like starting at a new school... ironed my shirt, polished my shoes, got my pens and pencils ready, hoping I don't get bullied... and so on. Do I bring an apple for my boss? Will I know where to sit? When can I eat my sandwiches?
Ask lots of questions like "how much breaktime do I get?", "how soon can I take a holiday?", "how many sick days am I entitled to?", "do you always press charges for embezzlement?"
ReplyDeleteAsking questions shows initiative.
Oh, and don't look at the table. Good luck!
It was an excellent first day. I have brought home so much stationery that I don't know where to put it all. It is a perk, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is. Not wanting to look a gift horse in the mouth, Brian took several suitcases filled with copier paper back from Singapore. After all, you've to economise when you get the chance.
ReplyDeleteImagine how he laughed when he found out his excess luggage bill was £13,450
