Sydney Harbour Bridge

One of the world's greatest constructions was opened on this day in 1932. It is, without doubt, an elegant and iconic landmark - unique and unmistakable. It features on a regular basis in the great events in Australian life; at the Sydney Olympics - and at every New Year, when it plays host to a giant firework display. I have been lucky enough to walk across this fine structure myself and I will never forget its truly unique profile.
