The UK is buzzing with anticipation as the happy day draws near. Personally, I cannot wait. As a huge fan of the monarchy, I have been touched by the simple love story that has gripped the nation. And today, we have been allowed a glimpse into the private life of the Middletons, the family who have nurtured our future queen, with the release of some precious family photos.

Kate - the darling of Midsomer Manor

Kate was born Catherine Rachel Anaesthesia Zarathustra Yardang Middleton on 12th February 1981. Her parents, Elspeth & Stanley Middleton, had high hopes that she would one day marry a member of the aristocracy, and were delighted when she started dating Lord Suggs of Camden in 2005. Whilst her collaboration with Suggs may have produced their avant garde single, 'Roundhouse 9', her constant presence in the recording studio caused tensions within the band and they parted company in 2007.

She met Prince William on the rebound and the two became best friends. In 2008, they announced their engagement, much to the delight of Elspeth & Stanley. The happy parents have already bought their wedding present for the couple - a Ronco Buttoneer. Now, we are all looking forward to this most joyous occasion, when bunting and street parties will be the order of the day. For my part, I wish Elspeth, Stanley, Kate & William all the royal luck in the world. God bless you, your majesties...
